On day 3 it was our first stop, which was in Ketchikan.
This is Mike and I before we got on the boat for our Deadliest Catch excursion.
Here you can see the cruise boats lined up as we pulled away on our excursion.
If you have ever watched the Deadliest Catch on tv you have seen the adventures of the crabbing boats. Mike and I got to go on our own little adventure. It was fabulous to see the Aleutian Ballard in action. This boat was in season two of the Deadliest Catch. This was probably one of our favorite excursions.
We got to watch them bring up different pots. This is one of the regular square pots but they also brought up a diamond pot and more. Depending on the type of crab they want determines the pot they use.
Here we are in front of the pot with the crabs. Pretty cool!!!
Here is one of the diamond pots. At least I think that was what it was called.
We got to hold the crabs ourselves.
Here I am with a box crab. Do you think I liked it? Actually, it was okay for a minute and then the crab started to move underneath, where my hand was and told my husband to take it and instead he took a picture.
It wasn't all crabs. When they brought up one of the special pots it had a squid instead.
In addition to crabs we saw bald eagles. I still can't believe I was able to catch the bald eagle in flight. You have no idea how hard that is. At least it was hard for me and I just happened to have my camera in the right spot when the eagle took off.
Here we are at the end of the trip with the captain and his assistant. What a great trip this was. We just had to bundle up a bit and drink lots of hot chocolate.
So now you have seen our morning in Ketchikan. Would you say that is a lot so far? That is why I decided to share our afternoon in my next post.
I hope you enjoy getting to see a little more of the Stampin' Up! cruise. I've got some more sneak peek stamping stuff to show as well.
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!!!
